Scrap import for Egypt’s EAF mills
Alexandria and the adjacent port of El Dekheila are where Egypt’s imported scrap lands. Egypt has one of the largest EAF steel industries in Africa and the Middle East, concentrated around Alexandria, Sadat City and the Suez region, and it imports HMS and shredded in bulk from Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States and the Black Sea. A large integrated works stands at El Dekheila itself.
