Container scrap export
Container scrap export
Port Botany, Sydney’s container port, exports Australia’s non-ferrous scrap and containerised ferrous scrap to India, China, South-East Asia and Bangladesh. Sydney and New South Wales have a dense scrap collection industry and the country’s largest processors, and the containers leave on the regular services to Asia.
Australian scrap exports are subject to the country’s waste-export rules, which distinguish clean metal from mixed and hazardous material; our Australia page summarises them.
