Container scrap exports
Container scrap exports
Felixstowe is the UKโs largest container port and the route by which most British non-ferrous and containerised ferrous scrap leaves the country. Copper, brass, aluminium, stainless, insulated wire and e-waste are packed in 20- and 40-foot boxes at yards across East Anglia and the Midlands and shipped on the weekly services to India, Pakistan, Malaysia, China and the Gulf.
Containerised HMS and shredded for South Asian buyers also move through Felixstowe when small lots or buyer preference favour boxes over bulk. Export paperwork, waste-shipment notifications and inspections are completed before the container is gated in.
