South-east US container scrap export
Savannah is the largest container port in the south-eastern United States and a major exporter of containerised scrap — copper, aluminium, stainless, brass and e-waste — to India, China, Turkey and South-East Asia. The south-east’s shredders and non-ferrous processors truck boxes to the Garden City terminal for the weekly services to Asia and the Mediterranean.
Bulk ferrous scrap from the Carolinas and Georgia also loads at Savannah and nearby ports for Turkish and Latin American mills.
