Tianjin in the scrap trade

Northern China scrap import and the Ziya recycling park

Tianjin is the sea port of Beijing and the north China plain, and its Ziya Circular Economy Industrial Park is one of the country’s designated zones for dismantling imported scrap metal and e-waste. Recycled metal raw material from Japan, South Korea, the United States and Europe arrives in containers and is processed in the park and in the surrounding Hebei industrial belt.

Hebei is the largest steel-producing province in China, so Tianjin’s ferrous scrap imports feed the region’s growing electric-furnace capacity as well as the integrated works.
