The British Metals Recycling Association is the trade body of the UK metal recycling industry, and its annual conference and dinner is the main gathering of the UK trade. Because the United Kingdom exports most of the scrap it collects, the conference is as much about Turkish, Asian and European markets as about Britain, and it follows UK scrap-export and waste-shipment policy closely.
