17 named firms across 4 scrap hubs — Athens, Oinofyta, Thessaloniki, Volos
Greek metals production is dominated by the Viohalco family of companies — electric furnace steel in the north and at Volos, copper and aluminium processing at Oinofyta, and a dedicated recycling arm that organises scrap flows for the group.
As one of the world's great shipowning nations, Greece is also a constant seller of end-of-life tonnage into the recycling markets of the eastern Mediterranean and South Asia.
The exchanges and price services the trade in Greece quotes against. Scrap is priced as a discount to these.
A firm that handles several metals appears under each.
